I Can’t Juggle Your Balls For You…

I’m taking a look at another quote image, and it’s a quote that’s sort of mine, but at the same time, not – sort of…

I’ll say right at the start, that my quote is based directly on a quote from one of the big names in the personal development field, the late Jim Rohn.

I only came across him fairly recently in the big scheme of things, but I like the way he spoke in presentations that I’ve seen, and I did laugh at his quote ‘you can’t hire somebody to do your push ups for you

It made me smile, and the point is easy to understand.

I thought I’d be able to use his quote in one of my quote images, so that’s exactly what I did!

"Jim Rohn"

I also had the idea of twisting to make my own version, because while I don’t know if Jim Rohn could juggle or not, I know I can, and I also know that Jim would have nodded his head in agreement with my quote.

So, why can’t I juggle your balls for you..?

Well, I can teach you how to juggle.

I can show you how to juggle.

I can tell you where you need to hold the balls, and start by throwing one of them to a certain point, then at a particular time you throw the next ball to a certain point, holding them at a certain point away from your body, and so on.

I can show you all that too! I can demonstrate each point one by one, and explain the logic, the physics behind how it all works.

That means you’ll know how to juggle. It *doesn’t* mean you’ll be able to juggle though, and this is the key difference…

You’ll know how other people juggle, and you’ll know how to you can potentially do it too, but without you starting, potential is all it’ll ever be.

At some point, you’ll just have to do it yourself. You’ll have to pick up some balls and start throwing them, start dropping them, start picking them back up. Throwing, dropping, picking up.

Then throwing, dropping, picking up some more. And more again.

As you continue to do this, your brain will start to make the neurological connections necessary to drop them a little less. In time, it will become automatic, so much so that the conscious mind is taken out of the process. You’ll be able to juggle blindfolded as it happens!

There is no way around this. I can’t do it for you.

Once you do start taking action, physical action in the real world, you’ll realise several things…

I really can’t do it for you! You can’t hire someone to do your push ups for you, as Jim Rohn said, and you can’t hire me or anyone else to juggle your balls for you.

Everyone who can juggle, went through the process. All of them, from your friend who can juggle, to the entertainer on the street corner, to the Las Vegas showmen juggling 9 balls – they *all* had to start the same way.

– You’re getting closer to your goal, and further away from your starting point. However frustrating it may be (and believe me, it can be very frustrating when you start!), you will see that you are moving forwards, and more than that, the only thing stopping you is whether you choose to carry on through the frustration, or choose to stop.

It’s not hard to see why I loved Jim Rohn’s ‘push ups’ quote so much when I first saw it, and why my own version with the juggling balls works just as well.

"Gordon Bryan", "The Great Gordino",

It’s something that can be applied to anything in life – that may be the small things, the fun things, or it may be the *big* things…

Career? Relationships? Health? Money? All of those fields have great knowledge out there, that you can access, but the knowledge won’t be worth much unless you take action. There are people who will help you, who will guide you through the frustrations as you drop the juggling balls of life, but whatever the goal, as much as it always has been, and always will be, it’s down to you.

So, look to your goals, whatever they might be. Have you been expecting them to happen simply by thinking about them? By reading a book? By watching a video? If so, then gain the knowledge, by all means, but now’s the time to pick up the balls!

Try it. It can change your life, it can transform it.

Ok, I’d love to hear what you think – do leave a comment!

‘Til Next Time,
Health & happiness,
Gordon

  • Hi Gordon.

Yes it was the headline that caught my eye!

Great analogy, thanks for sharing it. Its so true that you have to get on top of this stuff yourself. You cant really even outsource it if you don’t know what the ‘it’ is.

    • Thanks, and you make a good extra point about the outsourcing – in order to get that set up properly,
you do indeed need to know what ‘it’ is, and how it should be done, so always better to know how to do it
      yourself first!
      Thanks for stopping by!
      Cheers,
      Gordon
