In this article I’m taking a look at a question which covers both the allure of internet marketing, and the fear of it at the same time..!
Can you really make money online while you sleep?
Let’s get right to it, the short answer is ‘yes.’
Now, that’s not much of an article though, is it? I want to go into a little bit more detail than that! I want to look into the whys and hows of this being the case, and I’m going to start down that road, by giving you a longer answer to the question.
If the short answer is ‘yes’, then the longer answer is ‘yes, but with a bit of ‘no’ thrown in there!’
Or how about ‘no, but with a good old chunk of ‘yes’ thrown in!’
To simply give ‘yes’ as the answer is to fail to cover the nuances, the reason and expectations behind the question, the advantages and pitfalls. These are things that *shouldn’t* be overlooked, so let’s get stuck in.
Yes, of course you can make money online while you sleep!
If you think of the biggest online retailers, Amazon for example, do you think they only make money during working hours? Hardly, that’s not how the internet works.
The internet is a 24 hour a day opportunity, 7 days a week, 365 days a year (and yes, yes, leap years have that extra day too!)
Someone can go to Amazon, for example, and order something any time they want, the system is automated. Amazon doesn’t ‘sleep’, because it’s not dependent on humans for the money to come in.
This principle works for individuals too. It works for me, and it can work for you!
Once I’ve set up a system, someone can come to my site, and buy my products, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year (yes, yes, leap years I know!)
That means that I can wake up, check my accounts, and see that yes, I have indeed made money while I slept. If it’s one of my digital products, videos or e-books for example, the product was delivered as well, all while I was asleep, probably dreaming about chocolate.
That’s exciting.
It excites me I can tell you, and it should excite you, because the exact same opportunity is available to you *right now.*
Ok, so that’s all well and good, but what about the ‘no’ part of the answer that I gave about making money online while you sleep…
Well, the system that allows me to make that money while I’m away with the fairies, wasn’t created by fairies! It was set up by me!
I had to do it.
I had to learn how to do it, then take actual real world action, I had to put inn the effort to make it happen.
Then I had to create the products. As it happens, you can do it with other people’s products, but in my case I prefer to go with my own products. That means me writing the books. Me shooting the videos. Me making the images. Me recording the audios.
I didn’t wait for it to happen by magic, I didn’t expect the fairies to do it, and this is a key point, I didn’t expect it to happen just by pushing a few buttons!
That’s key, so I’m going to repeat it for good measure – I didn’t expect it to happen just by pushing a few buttons!
This is where people fall down with the ‘make money while you sleep’ idea. They think that when they see an offer that says they can just push some sort of magic button, and the riches will flow, that this is the holy grail.
It isn’t.
When they sign up to these offers, and let’s be honest we can probably call them ‘scams’, they find they don’t work, and then either move on to the next push button idea, or dismiss the whole thing as a myth.
It isn’t.
The idea of push button riches, that *is* a myth yes, but the idea of making money online most certainly is *not* a myth.
It takes effort, it take work, it takes learning how to do it, it takes overcoming setbacks and frustrations, but once all that’s in place then it can happen.
I know this is true, because it happens for me.
It happens for others. Lots of others, from all kinds of different situations, all the time, all over the world.
It can happen for you too!
So, I think it was worth looking at the longer answer, don’t you agree? To go back to the short answer in conclusion though – can you really make money online while you sleep? Yes!
