I’ve been thinking for a long time that I needed to post when I go on my photo trips, and when I say a long time, I mean a *long* time!
I went on my first real photo trip of the year yesterday, and something has triggered inside and I find myself doing a post about it! Hopefully it’ll inspire me to catch up and post about previous ones.
Big Ben at sun down, Jan 22nd, 2017.
Some of my trips are planned, some of them are more spontaneous with minimal planning, and this was one of those. I see a lot of political coverage on the news, but for some reason during the week, some shots of the sun behind the Houses of Parliament had caught my photography eye!
I spotted a window of good weather, lack of train strikes(!), so hopped on a train and off I went.
I do like the sunrise or sunset sessions, because they provide ample opportunity for a variety of shots, and Mother Nature can do a good job of covering up some failings of the photographer!
It was cold up, (hardly surprising since it’s slap bang in January), but I was surprised at how busy it was – it was heaving with tourists! I wanted to shout at them to get out of the way, but decided better of it!
As can sometimes happen with these trips, the sun wasn’t in quite the position I had expected so I had to rather ‘make do’ instead of getting the exact shots I had previously had in mind, but that’s part of the fun of it!
This last shot had been the one I had wanted to get, expecting the sun to be setting behind Big Ben. The sun *actually* set further down the river, but hey, I still think this is a nice shot.
So, that’s my first photo trip blog post. Do let me know what you think! I may well try this one again later in the year when the sun is in a different position (and it’s warmer!) and I hope you’ll enjoy my photo posts!
‘Til Next Time,
Health & happiness,
P.S. You’ll have seen me posting about turning passions into profits, and photography is a great example of a passion that has a massive industry around it. If you fancy, do watch my free video series which covers the basics of my FB Passion Profits system!
