Although I wrote about it back in 2005, I realised in 2011 that I hadn’t put it on this particular blog, so I did it then.
I link back to it every year, because the people that died can tend to get forgotten as individuals, and I found his story well worth remembering.
Here it is:
Remembering Rick Rescorla 2011

What an incredible man!
I am ashamed to say that I hadn’t heard of him until now!
Nothing to be ashamed of, that’s why I like to share his story. I hadn’t heard of him either until I saw the documentary in 2005, and have been sharing it ever since,
Thanks for your comment as ever,
Cheers,
Gordon
It was amazing to learn of Mr. Rescorla’s (A’H) efforts right after it happened… It was, perhaps, one of the few “sparks of hope” that emanated from that tragedy. The efforts of one man to have so much effect on so many others.
Hi Roy,
Yes, it’s a real story of humanity, the inherent good we have within us to think of others,
cheers,
Gordon
Thanks for sharing this Gordon. Left you comment on the linked post. He was a great man!
