The Great Gordino Newsletter – Jul 28th 2014

Hi,
I hope all is well with you.

I get lots of spam comments left on the blog, and the other day I got my first one that was just a totally blank comment. I couldn’t believe it, because with all this heat we’ve been having it was the one time I really *wanted* some cheap sunglasses!

"Gordon Bryan"
I’m a happy boy though – I got an order arrive of some chocolate from Germany.
It’s alpine milk chocolate from Ritter Sport – you just can’t get in here in the UK, but go online, a couple of clicks, and thank you very much!

I had an absolutely mahoosive spider clinging to the net curtain in my room. Biggest I’ve seen for a long time, hairy kneecaps, the works. How did they get so sneaky to know to hang onto something so flimsy that we can’t do the glass/paper thing.

Anyway, I knew I had to do something, couldn’t leave her unattended, so I had to go in for the hand grab. She fell, (or more likely jumped) to safety and scurried off.
Great.
Now I had to go to bed tonight knowing she was there in the darkness, staring at me…

How do I know it was a girl spider, you might ask?
1. The hairy knees. Seems to be a recurring theme.
2. The speed at which she ran off as soon as I touched her.

I confirmed an irrefutable law of the universe this week –
When tipping a Pringles can up to your mouth to get the crumbs at the bottom, no matter how slowly or delicately you do it, at some point you *will* pour the crumbs all over your face #pringleinducedeyeinfection

"Gordon Bryan"The Commonwealth Games are in full swing – 71 countries and territories comprising 2 billion people. Two stories caught my eye at the weekend, one of which will definitely be an article on its’ own – Steve Way finished in the top 10 in the marathon aged 40. He broke the British record for over 40s, but more noteworthy is that 7 years ago he weighed 16 stone, smoked and drank heavily and ate masses of junk takeaway food. He decided to do something about it, and did he ever!

Erraid Davies came 3rd in her paraswimming event. She’s the youngest ever competitor for the host nation Scotland at the Commonwealths. At just *13*, and her smile afterwards was simply gorgeous. Lovely.

This week saw 75 years since Batman first appeared. I was a big comic collector at one point (I still have them) and was always more of a Marvel man, but you have to admire the success of the franchise, and the whole industry that was inspired by the combination of Batman and Superman.

Comics are a big passion for many people, and the films of the comics are a passion for others. Both subjects are ripe to make profits from, and you can do it online by following steps. You can find out more by looking at my book “FB Passion Profits” and I also wrote a free guide covering the basics, which you won’t be surprised to hear is called
“FB Passion Profits – The Basics!”

Ok, let me know what you think, I love the comments!
‘Til Next Time,
Health & Happiness,
Gordon

  • Hilarious! I was a bit miffed when I found you weren’t sharing the chocolate, but the spider story made up for it. I checked my knees and I think you are spot on!

Love the post and I’ll check out the guide.

I’m going to look for the chocolate link now…

  • Hello Gordon I love your roundup! Especially the hairy-kneed lady spider. I watched Erraid Davies yesterday and it was inspiring. You couldn’t help smiling as broadly as she was. Keep well. 🙂

    • Thanks Harriet!
Something else I’ve enjoyed from the swimming is watching the Scottish and Welsh winners suddennly get hit by emotion when their own anthems start,
      cheers, Gordon

  • Gordon … sounds like it has been an exciting time, especially the chocolate bit! As for the spider, a few weeks in Australia would cure you of that + the Aussie girls might love your accent 😉

  • What an eclectic post. From chocolate now apparently missing from the British High Street (I hadn’t even noticed and I used to love Ritter) through hairy kneed spiders to the Commonwealth games in a few short paragraphs.

Real entertainment and really interesting. Many thanks.

    regards,

    Steven Lucas

    • Thanks Steven,
For some reason you can find Ritter in marzipan or dark chocolate, I don’t know why not the milk. It does feel weird oredring chocolate online, but it worked a treat! I have to lock them up though or that girl spider will have a field day!
      Cheers,
      Gordon
