Why Jan 8th Is A Great Day To Set Your New Year Resolutions!

I wrote an article a couple of years ago called ‘Quick, It’s March 1st – Time To Set New Year Resolutions!’

The point of the article is still valid today, so I’ve revamped it this year to focus on January 8th. Read on to find out more…

So, surely New Year Resolutions are set on Jan 1st, right? That’s the tradition.

Yes, and that’s also the problem. It’s part of the extended Christmas tradition, that you set a resolution, like stop smoking, find love, lose weight, but it’s also part of the tradition to have a joke about the fact that they last less than a week.

This joke sets an important mindset, but it’s the *wrong* mindset, because you are programming yourself to fail by expecting to fail. There is nothing wrong with setting goals, but it’s important to set them, properly, and it’s a subject I cover in my book ‘Transform Your Life in 21 Days!’

So why is Jan 8th any better a day to use..?

Well, the 12 days of Christmas end on January 6th, this allows you January 7th to sit down with a cup of tea, and really look at what you want to achieve in the year ahead. Not wishy washy vagueness, but cold hard, defined, measurable, believable goals.

If you do it on January 8th, you have removed yourself from the ‘jokey’ fail expectations of January 1st, and have already put yourself in a far better chance of reaching your goals than the rest of the ‘January 1st’ crowd!

Read my full 8 step goal achievement formula in my book ‘Transform Your Life in 21 Days!’ which has been described as ‘awesome’, ‘motivational magic’, and ‘a true gem’.

‘Til Next Time,

Health & Happiness,
