Rock & Roll Town is released on Jan 1st 2022.
Written by Gordon Bryan, a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away (well, his mind, same thing), this 2022 version is to fire up the project’s original idea – to get as many different artists as possible to record their version of the song, but to also have it as a quick, in-out, wham-bam song to enjoy and smile about.
A simple song, of 3 chords (ish), around 3 minutes (ish), and that’s part of the point, that music has a power that doesn’t have to be complicated.
Music brings people together.
Maybe in a large crowd in an arena, all there at the same place and time, to enjoy the same thing. Maybe at home, by yourself, nodding your head and smiling at the music, maybe letting it take you to a specific time and place in the past.
When people gather around music, in that community, I’ve always found people to be more welcoming and less judgmental. This is true in any genre of music, but particularly the rock scene. That’s why I called the song ‘Rock & Roll Town!’
I’ll write more in due, about why I wrote the songs, its influences, the bits and bobs I deliberately put in there, the merchandise, and so on, but for now, Jan 1st 2022 see the song released under the banner of my ‘Rock & Roll Bandits’ project.
